Jesus calls us to His service, Call us to it now; Bids us leave our sins and follies, And the world’s vain show; Bids us do the work of duty, Work and watch and pray; Work for Him who died to save us, Work while it is day. Shall His voice in vain address us? Can we still delay? No, with earnest faithful purpose, We will now obey; Selfish counsels firm rejecting, No more led astray; We will do the work of duty, Work, while it is day. Jesus, Son of God our Father, Holy One divine, Heart and life we here surrender, To be wholly Thine; Cross, and crown and grace, our symbols: Cross, to vanquish sin; Crown, to fix our gaze on Heaven, Grace, to let us in.
